About the customer
Pražská plynárenská has long been one of the most important energy suppliers in the Czech Republic. It serves almost 420 thousand delivery points across the country. It is a stable, modern and prosperous energy company, able to respond quickly and flexibly to changing customer requirements.
Our task
We were asked to build a web application: an acquisition calculator for electricity and gas products through which a customer can conveniently price, order or change any Pražská plynárenská product, all without setting foot in a branch. Our goal was one solution that works for households, for businesses and for existing clients alike.
Challenges
It was a demanding technical solution that called for a comprehensive approach and for implementing SAP Gateway technology over the OData protocol.
We had to handle extensive project coordination around the connection to the customer portal.
Our work
We built the savings calculator as an effective acquisition tool that takes the data entered and works out the price of every product Pražská plynárenská offers.
We optimised the UX/UI solution and built our experience from earlier projects of the same kind into its architecture. The result is a React application that talks to the customer self-care portal and to the SAP core system.
We made life easier for customers with several practical touches. Once an existing customer signs in, their data is loaded from the self-care application and pre-filled into the draft contract forms. Typing out birth numbers and house numbers is a thing of the past.
We did all of it with an emphasis on efficiency and a personal approach, and that turned the client and supplier relationship into a genuine partnership.
Result
We built an application that lets Pražská plynárenská offer online pricing for its complete portfolio of electricity and gas products. It was a pilot project, and with it we helped Pražská plynárenská open its whole range of services to younger customers who are used to dealing with things online. It also let the company unify its product offer across the branches and the web.
